Job Description:
Maintain in depth-knowledge of federal, state, institutional and private financial aid programs, the regulations governing the programs and the processing procedures. Conduct initial review of documents, worksheets and correspondence received in compliance with federal guidelines and established procedures. Process reports on a scheduled basis to ensure timely customer service and regulatory compliance. During peak times, review student files selected for verification and provide basic information to students and families regarding the financial aid application process and status of their application.  
 
Process the following reports on a regular basis:  
Admission and enrollment reports; cancelled and withdrawn students.  
IART Report  
State Grant Rosters ? enrollment verification-electronic and paper methods  
Variance Reports  
Correction Reports  
Applicant tracking reports  
 
Provide basic information to applicants, families and school personnel regarding the financial aid application process, policies and the status of applications.  
 
Assist as backup in monitoring overflow voicemail and email boxes.  
 
Assist counselors during peak time, review student files selected according to federal verification requirements; review for completeness and accuracy, request additional information as needed.  
 
Assist in creation of mail merge documents and mailings for specific federal financial aid programs i.e., College Work Study and Perkins Loan Program.  
 
Attend open-houses, family visit days, and form completion sessions. Some weekend and evening work required.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have 2 years of experience in the field of student financial aid, preferably at a professional level in a college financial aid office, strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate detailed information through email, telephone and written documentation, as well as strong listening skills and the ability to ask probing question to produce constructive results. Must be reliable, accurate, and be strong with details, aptitude with numbers and basic financial calculations. A demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge to new situations and have the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities is necessary.
